mini

I took the kids to miniature golf last week.
It was Molly's first time...
We only lost one golf ball, and we didn't keep score.
Jack's overall form is improving.
Molly's?
Well, it needs work.

We also decided to try the go carts...
I was surprised that Molly was big enough.
And she was actually a really good driver!

We ended up in the arcade for a few games before we left.
Super fun morning!
Thanks, Boomers!

bloom

These flowers right outside our door bloom like twice a year and
don't last nearly long enough.
I grabbed Molly one day after school and made her model for me.
I had a window of about 39 seconds before she was "done"...

10....

You don't raise heroes, you raise sons.
And if you treat them like sons, they'll turn out to be heroes,
even if it's just in your own eyes.  ~Walter M. Schirra, Sr.

My favorite 4th grader turned 10 today.
I told a friend that his age is the closest it's ever been to his birth weight!
Ha ha ha!

I think Jack had a pretty good birthday...
He had cupcakes at school.
His teacher came to visit from Sacramento.
He got his top wish list Lego sets.

We had a fun dinner at Encounter.
The bummer was that Ken is heading to Ohio tonight to help his mom
as she recovers from surgery.
So, we had a nice dinner, and said goodbye for the week.

As inspired by the Diary of a Wimpy Kid movie,
Jack created a "spin the bottle" type game for us to play.
We spun the Lego Star Wars ship.
We had to say a reason why we loved the person it pointed to.
We laughed and laughed at the silly (and sentimental reasons).

Of course, dessert.

Happy Birthday to our super, super 10 year old.
You make us proud everyday.
