buggin'

We bought a container of ladybugs to release in Papa and Nana's backyard.
The kids LOVED watching the ladybugs...
We LOVED watching them love it.

While at the nursery, Jack saw the praying mantis pods. He had asked for them before, but, I was able to talk him out of it. But not this time...

So, we bought 2 pods and put them in our butterfly net garden...and waited...and waited.

Today, the emerged from the pods, hundreds of them! I freaked for a second, and decided we needed to release them right away...

They were both mesmerized...they are so tiny!
Molly kept calling them "adorable", even when they crawled on her legs and feet.
When they "jumped" off, she would say...
"Have a nice life!"

Both ladybugs and praying mantis pods can be purchased at your local nursery...
(we went to Armstrong).
It makes for a fun afternoon and a fun science lesson!

Mother's Day Tea

St. Paul's had another sweet Mother's Day Tea.
Molly had been sick, but was able to participate,
which made her very happy.

She loved singing and kept up with all the hand movements.

They served us cookies and lemonade
and gave us sweet picture frames for presents.

Molly loves her teacher AND Aunt Joyce.
She's getting too big, too fast!
Jack's in 3rd grade now, and doesn't sing the cute little songs for Mother's Day.
Instead, he writes wonderful letters.
Here are his Mother's Day words:
 Dear Mom,
Happy Mother's Day! I want to thank you for all the good times
we have together, like when you take me to Legoland. I love it when you take me there.
The reason I love it is because it's time for just you and me. I also thank you for
helping me with my homework, sometimes when there is a problem
that I just can't figure out.
I also like it when you make or take us out to dinner, like when you cook pasta
 or take us to McDonald's.
I appreciate that every morning you have all my stuff set up and ready to go.
And while I'm in class taking the CST I know you're at work earning money
for food and other things we need. And at  night we all get to be together
and eat dinner as a family.
I also love how you take your time to take care of us if something bad happens,
like when I fractured my elbow, or when you helped me when I was sick.
I also like it how you keep us safe from dangerous things like knives and big scissors.
I hope you like my letter and I wish you a Happy Mother's Day.
Your son,
Jack

Time to Fly....

So, tomorrow is my birthday.
And I don't really need anything.
BUT, here's something cool...

Bella's family is participating in a BIG fundraising event for PUCK.
And the cool thing is...
EVERY DOLLAR RAISED WILL BE MATCHED!
Amazing, right?
Well, guess who has her own fundraising page??
My favorite 6 year old.

 Yep.
Ali is hoping to raise money, too.
And I want to help her...
So, maybe...on my birthday...
You could go to the Time to Fly page
and donate $5.00 to Ali's walk?
Because that would really mean $10.00...

It would make me a really happy 37 year old :)
And, it would make this special 6 year old feel REALLY important, too.

Here are some more friends who would be super happy about it, too:
more friends, here!

The Big Test

Jack was asked, like all the kids at my school, to dedicate his state test to someone important.

I think he's already passed the "test".
(get tissues ready)
