tricks and treats!

We had a fun Halloween!

Last night, we carved pumpkins (and one more this morning!)

It was fun to see Molly enjoy trick or treating this year!

I don't know if she really knew what was going on, but

she kept up with Jack and the other big kids.

Here are a few highlights, including a classic Jack

video clip. He's so convincing, it's scary!
Happy Halloween!

CRAZY Hair Day!

please read...

... my friend Ruby's blog....
Seriously. You will not be disappointed.
And if you want more, go back and read her other Halloween entries...
Ruby...you amaze me!

Jack is a what?

I have had a few people ask about Jack's costume...
He is a Bakugan Brawler, named Dan (who has BROWN hair, by the way!)
And, if you want to see how perfect his costume is,
or read Dan's bio, here you go:

Treats in the Streets

After missing Halloween last year, Jack COULD NOT WAIT for the Treats in the Streets trick or treating at the traffic circle. Here he is in his custom made Bakugan Brawler costume. Thanks, Nana!
First stop, a bar?
Yes, they were passing out candy, at the bar.
Molly's costume this year is Foofa, the "pink and happy" Gabba Gabba character.

(she's smiling here, because she found a dog to pet...and the dog had on a bee costume, FYI)

This guy had R2D2 in the back of his car.
I love Jack's expression!

Can you guess what Molly loved most (besides the dogs in costumes)?
The petting zoo, of course!

Jack had to spin every wheel at any booth that had one!

And Molly even played the bean bag toss!
Happy (almost) Halloween!

Jack gets to participate in Crazy Hair Day tomorrow at school, in place of wearing his costume.
I was so excited to "play" with his hair, lots of funky colors and spikes.
So, I asked him....

me: "Do you want to color your hair tomorrow?"
Jack: "YES!!!!" (imagine a kid who is really happy!)
me: "well, what color? I can get blue, red, green, purple, orange. What colors should we get?"

Jack: pause....thinking..." I think brown"

sigh. so much for CRAZY hair day.

did I mention I have a thing for pumpkin patch pictures?

We got to Irvine Park before our friends did. So we did some exploring first...
I think Molly is actually staring at her pumpkin socks in this one!She watched some bigger kids measure themselves, and of course,
had to do it, too.Sitting on pumpkins made her laugh! Then, Melodie and Reece came and we rode the train together.
But these two had more fun chasing each other all around.
I was amazed to even get a picture of them together!!Then, Mia came!!
And we tried to get these 2 together for a picture...to compare with last years picture from the same place.I am thankful for the fall and for playdates...
and Pumpkin Patch pictures.

Fingerprint Friday

There is a song by Steven Curtis Chapman that says:
I can see the fingerprints of god
When I look at you
I can see the fingerprints of god
And I know its true
You're a masterpiece
That all creation quietly applauds
And you're covered with the fingerprints of god

There is a blog I read where Fingerprint Friday always leaves me inspired.
So, I decided to try it out...you should too! Even if you don't blog or even take a picture...

look around you and see where YOU can see God's fingerprints. Is it in nature? Kids? Animals? Where do you see them?

(you can see links to other Fingerprint Fridays on PamperingBeki's blog as well....get inspired!)

Wordless Wednesday...because being a princess is SO overrated!

(does it make me a sick blogging mommy, if I let this episode last a little longer than it needed to, only to get good pictures to blog about??)

flashback

Because looking back is fun...
2 years ago, I was doing THIS with Jack!

FUN Zone

You know that your kids are growing up when they start
doing things you NEVER think they would ever do.
Jack has been asking to do this trampoline jump for awhile.
I have been saying no, only because I really didn't think he'd like it.
But, today, he gave it a try.
And he LOVED every minute.
