the naughty files

Not THAT kind of naughty. Let me explain...
We had a wonderful family get together last night.
Molly had a good dinner: hot dogs, grapes, strawberries.
But then...she got naughty.

Because she tried to climb out of her chair, and walk on the table

and do some gardening. and then, apparently tried to pet the fish, that was in this bowl.

(the fish survived the trauma, fyi)It got me thinking...

She really IS naughty.

And here is more proof.

From our house.

Of course, I buy the 120 crayon box...
and she can easily reach Jack's desk drawer now...and she likes to use the computer, too...and decorate the furniture

and sit on things that were not meant for sitting.

This post was meant for everyone who doesn't believe me.
This post is NOT for any potential daycare providers.
And, I am sure it will be continued...
probably tomorrow.

Here, Kitty Kitty

My mom and dad had their house tented this week..so, the cat needed a place to stay.

The kids were THRILLED to have the cat around.

The cat, not so much.

There are 3 short video clips on here, they take longer to load, so be patient!

summer park review, #2

My second official park review...
Today we went to Northwood Park, or Castle Park, in Irvine.
We give it 4.5 stars out of 5!
(and the only reason for it not being a perfect 5 was that the
baby swings were not under an canopy, and it was
pretty warm!)
This is a GREAT park...and both my kids were happy there!

Obviously, it has a castle theme, with this giant castle, great for hide and seek!A good park is better with friends.
Jack had Christina to play with...and Molly had Mia!Because of the community center, they even have
different balls you can borrow... They had several play structures,
perfect for all stages of play! Besides being hot, this was a perfect park.
I am sure we will be back...
plus, it's so close to Ken's new school AND Chik-Fil-A!
(It's also a sentimental park for me. When I babysat for my
favorite family, I took the boys here many, many times...
and now, one of them is in college, and 2 are in high school!
Their mom met me there today, just for a quick visit!)

dad

becoming Jack's Daddy...and then Molly's Daddy...one for each hand, is perfect. We went to church, and then went to lunch for Father's Day. Molly wore a perfect new dress, that Daddy picked out.

"I love Daddy because...
he helps me go to bed,
he takes me to Dave & Buster's, and
he helps me find the remote".

Summer Park Review #1

After finding this cool park website, I was determined that my summer would include trips to local parks. I figured it was the cheapest entertainment I could find with both kiddos this summer. Our first official summer park date was Atlantis Play Park in Garden Grove.

I REALLY wanted this to be the best park ever.

But it wasn't...even though it sounds wonderful, it's not that exciting.

It's a very cute, themed park...they have a great dragon slide.

It's just really old.

And needs some love.

There is a sign outside that says "no wax paper". Because the slides are so dull, kids apparently bring wax paper to make them go down faster. You have to practically scoot down the slides, especially the big dragon slide.

The highlight, according to Jack (and Molly would agree if she could talk) was all the wild rabbits roaming around...Molly did try a big kid swing (I did find baby swings eventually) and didn't even fall off!

Molly faced her fears and showed the shark who was boss...

This park, for us, scores a 2.5 out of 5 stars. I would've said a 2, but the rabbits bumped up the score! If anyone has some other parks they want to suggest...or want to visit a new park, let me know. My goal is one new park a week!

the first (hair) cut is the deepest

It was definitely time.

The calm before the storm.

(notice how long the back of her hair was)

This is the reaction with the first spray of water.
That should've been a sign that things were about to get ugly.
Oh, the drama...
and then, she barfed.
Literally, she made herself sick.

Now, look at the look she gives Ken, who is taking the pictures.
How many grown-ups does it take to cut a 17 month old's hair?
Apparently, 3.
(and yes, the horrible mommy is almost laughing at this point and
notice that we are now standing up)
Hmmm...maybe a lollipop will make it better...
or...maybe not.

but, we survived.
And look at the back!
For now, this is the best picture of the front.
She's still all sweaty from battle, so I will post
a better one later.
She looks so big!

and now...MUSIC

I know...I am addicted to the whole blog thing.
Now, I added music.
If you like to have SILENCE, just click the pause button...

(sigh)

I didn't think it would be so emotional, really.

Jack, entering the MPR.My view...can you see Jack?
Me neither...so, I went "backstage" to get a better shot......and got this one :)Getting his certificate.Mommy and JackDaddy and JackAlmost a perfect family picture...just missing Molly!Nana came, too. She and Jack had a special afternoon after graduation.Miss Joo...we love you!Finding his name on the graduation shirts.
See...the kids sing a little song...it goes like this:
"Kindergarten's over, and now we're going home.
Goodbye, goodbye, we're going to first grade"
And we have sang the same song for the whole 5 years I have been
teaching Kindergarten.
But, this year, it was different.
My BABY was singing it...
and we practiced all the songs when he took a bath last night.
And after the graduation, Jack asked:
"Are you proud of me for being a first grader now?"
If he only knew...
