you knew she could climb...
...but did you know she can dance?
on the table?
Look at this face...
Look at this face...
it's like she's telling me,
"Lighten up, Mom. It's only dancing on the table. Geez.
I can't do anything fun anymore".

Of course, I got it on video, too.

Zoomars
We spent the morning and early afternoon at Zoomars, in San Juan Capistrano. We hadn't been since Jack's 4th birthday, and we had a feeling Molly would love the animals, especially the bunny & guinea pig pen...and we were right. I took WAY TOO MANY pictures, here are some of the highlights. If you really want the rest, click here!

Mom's Night Confession
Dear Ken,
I know what you are thinking. 3 hours? Really? It takes 3 hours to eat dinner? I have a confession to make. We ate our dinner in probably 40 minutes. BUT, my monthly mom outings are about so much more than eating dinner. In those 3 hours, I did not have to worry about Goldfish crackers, highchairs, and whether or not they have a kids' menu. In those 3 hours, I didn't have to have crayons at the table, boardbooks in my purse, or extra Nintendo DS games. In those 3 hours, I didn't have to clean noodles off the floor, ask for extra saltine crackers, or use my cell phone as a distraction. Nope. Not tonight.
Those 3 hours were about me and my wonderful friends. In those 3 hours we laughed, and cried, and talked, and smiled. We compared notes, we talked about sleepless nights, the Wiggles, tv shows, our jobs...
I know, it's a girl thing. I know you don't get how we can sit for 3 hours...but we can. And I am so thankful for these women, and so thankful for every hour I can spend with them.
And, to my dear girlfriends, I know you know how it feels. I also know, that deep down, the best feeling is coming home, to babies in cozy footed pajamas.
So, thanks for a very much needed escape...to my best mommy friends, and my wonderful husband. Can we do it every month??

monthly reminder
I feel like a broken record. I say this every month
Molly and I have playdates every month with friends.
It is an amazing few hours, as we are in awe of our babies and how much they have grown!
For me, it's a constant reminder of how lucky I am.
Lucky to have healthy, beautiful, and happy kids.
Lucky to have wonderful, supportive, and strong girlfriends to talk to and raise them with.
just a few of the crew...when did Molly get so big?!I love Molly's expression on this one!
same babies...one year ago!

career opportunities
This story has two parts:
Part One:
Apparently, Jack told his teacher that when he grows up,
he wants to be a Kindergarten teacher.
Now, as his mom AND a Kindergarten teacher,
this made my day.
"He wants to be like me", I thought.
I was wrong.
Apparently, he wants to be a Kindergarten teacher
because,
"it looks pretty easy".
Part Two:
Today, our wonderful cafeteria lady was telling me how funny Jack is when he goes through the line to buy his milk.
She says, "Thank you, Jack"
and he replies,
"No, thank YOU".
This is their routine.
If she is busy, he tells her,
"it's o.k. Take your time. I will wait".
I told him later that I was proud
that he uses such good manners
when he gets milk.
"It's an important job, Mom.
When I grow up, I think I will
be a lunch lady, too".
At least he has some options!

Molly, Molly, Molly
Last night, Molly and I had a rough time. We went to dinner with the girls in the family, while the boys had a BBQ. It would've been so nice to chat with aunts, cousin, and my mom...but, Molly had her own plans. She cried the whole time. I think I had 4 bites of dinner, and then asked for a to go container. We came home...I was frustrated...but, it was time for a bath...where, Molly made me smile...and all was good again.
Tonight, I wanted to get what caused the smile on video. And I did. Then, she decided to show off yet another skill...which, of course, I also got on video...(**there are 2 individual clips, so you may have to click twice)
