I know that you took over 800 pictures at our school.
I realize you have to make some money from the work you did.
But, really, I think the prices are a bit much. It's nice that you offer a "complete package" for $41.00, but it's also nice that I have a scanner.
Love,
Sara

fingerprint friday
There is a song by Steven Curtis Chapman that says: I can see the fingerprints of god. When I look at you, I can see the fingerprints of god. And I know its true. You're a masterpiece, that all creation quietly applauds. And you're covered with the fingerprints of god.
We also met with Jack's teacher. There is always a little anxiety.
The thing is, we are proud of Jack for the kid he is...I always said I wanted happy, healthy, and KIND, GOOD kids. And we have that.
The icing on the cake is that Jack is reading at a 6th grade level, with comprehension.
He is mastering his math facts.
His journal writing and creativity makes me smile.
On top of all that, he is a good friend to his classmates.
And those emotional meltdowns are almost non-existent in the classroom.
Whew.
He is my fingerprint, and not just on Friday.
Check our The Rusted Chain for more inspiration.
So look around you and see where YOU can see God's fingerprints.(yes, we made cake balls instead of a cake)
Conference week is over. I met with 23 families to discuss assessments and behavior, strengths and weaknesses, and how to help 5 year olds learn at home.We also met with Jack's teacher. There is always a little anxiety.

Homework
From Jack's homework last night.
(Typed as is...spelling and punctuation)
I just enjoy finishing my homework.
It's really fun for me to finish my homework fast.
I can't think of what to write in my journle.
It takes me about ten minuttes.
I wish I could do my work fast so I could be done early.
If I could do my homework fast it would be fun!

school
When you are 2, there are some serious perks to having a mom who teaches Kindergarten.
The classroom is FULL of lots of stuff to do...
Molly came with me today while I got stuff ready for conference week.
She played outside, and then discovered she could wash her hands...
We moved on to painting...
which led to washing our hands, again.
She played with pretty much EVERYTHING she could get her hands on, and even things she shouldn't be using, you know, scissors and such.
As I was trying to follow her around and clean up the damage as she went, I noticed how she had left these math manipulatives...
Clearly, every bear is in it's own proper place, right?

7...really? 7?
It took 7 years to go from this:
to this:For Jack's 7th, I wanted to share some favorite old photos...
And, as I was thinking of something to write, to summarize my thoughts on tomorrow's birthday, I had a hard time. I always tell Jack to stop growing up, to just stay 6. I said it when he was 5, too. I am sure I will want him to stay 7 as well.
Here are 7 favorite flashbacks, in no particular order, all about my favorite 7 year old:
(please note, this are my favorite BLOGGED flashbacks...we had 5 years of Jack without a blog to record all the wisdom)
(Come on, did you really think I could narrow it down to only 7? This is Jack, you know!)

just because
I am posting this, just because. I have already posted Molly and her animal sounds, but, it's just too cute. You will notice at the end of the video, there is some potty talk. I think we are slowly starting that process, as Molly is showing some interest in sitting on her Dora potty seat, unlike Jack, who declared the potty was "too dangerous" when he was 2.5. Also, unlike her brother, Molly needs no bribes or rewards, just a high five, as you will see here. |
